McLaren's spider line sits apart from most convertible supercars: the roof folds away without touching the driving character underneath. Our two cars, the 720S Spider and the Artura Spider, represent two different eras of that same idea. The 720S Spider carries the older twin-turbo V8 format, raw and immediate, favoured by drivers who want a car that reacts the instant it's asked to. The Artura Spider is McLaren's newer hybrid architecture, quieter at low speed, sharper in its electronic responses, and better suited to drivers who want the option of a gentler cruise between fast stretches. Both are two-seat cars, low, wide, and built for open-road days rather than daily errands — a client renting either one is usually planning a specific outing: a coastal drive, a weekend away from a city base, a photograph-worthy arrival at an event. Rates start from €1600 per day, and the difference between the two cars is less about price and more about temperament — one rewards commitment, the other rewards precision. Handover can be arranged at a hotel or airport on request, with the usual paperwork and vehicle walk-through completed before the keys change hands. Given there are only two cars in this line, early booking matters more than with a larger fleet — especially around weekends when demand for an open-top McLaren tends to concentrate.
